Description

On the Wine Routes, this 35 km wine tourism tour by car comes alive with vine landscapes, tasting sessions and discovery of small villages. The Pays de Mareuil and its AOC classified wines are open to you. Then let's go!

Mareuil-sur-Lay-Dissais, a quiet town in the Vendée, will charm you... In the port of Les Gabarres, start the morning with a short wander on the water, by boat or pedal boat. A good way to admire the city from the river, in the peace and quiet.

A few kilometres from Mareuil, the Eiffel bridge in Lavaud, one of the 16 bridges built by Gustave Eiffel stands proudly in front of you. You will enjoy lunch overlooking the terrace bridge in one of the nearby restaurants. Vendée ham and Mareuil rouge: the perfect duo!

Your journey continues at the Conservatoire de la Négrette, to discover the 41 lines of this ancient grape variety, which has almost disappeared.

Further north, it is possible to visit the last water mill, the one in Rambourg. In summer, children will love watching dragonflies!

On your way back to Mareuil, push the doors of a wine estate to meet winegrowers who are passionate about their profession. It is sometimes even possible to visit the cellars before the wine tasting.

If you have time, bring fishing rods to catch some fish at Marillet Dam. At the end of the day, the wonderful sunset over the Pont de Mareuil is a beautiful moment to share. The camera is required!
