MOULIN DU CHAMP DE LA TRUIE
Description
Limestone tower mill. It dates from the second half of the 19th century. It had a chestnut roof.
On the first floor, there is a pair of recent millstones measuring 1.2 m in diameter.
- The tower was completely restored in December 2007.
- The roof was blown off during the storm of 1999, and has now been reinstalled, along with the interior mechanism.
- The framework was completed during the winter of 2009/2010 and the roof covered with chestnut shingles, laid one by one.
A miller's house with a bread oven has been built nearby!
There were 18 mills in Nalliers and Mouzeuil St Martin in the 19th century.
