Description
Its name reflects the nature of the villages that make up our territory. Named in the 12th century INSULEA DE ELLA, it was in the 14th century that it became L'Isle D'Elle. Detached from the former province of Aunis during the Revolution, it became a commune of Vendée in 1791.
