LE COMMUNAL DE LAIROUX
Description
The commune of Lairoux extends over 245 hectares of natural wet grassland, providing a place of tranquillity for many species. Little modified by man, these areas have never been used for anything other than extensive grazing, a management method adapted to the capacities of the environment. Flooded in winter and spring, the communal area is also an essential reception area for birds, which find food and tranquillity here, particularly from November to April.
Don't miss the "touching of the communal" in April, when over 500 cows and horses are released into the communal for 6 months, during a festive day.
Birdwatching is available all year round.
