The ecomuseum opens the doors to the embankment supervisor’s official accommodation. Men have played an essential role in water management and maintained this vast hydraulic network over the centuries. Discover the living conditions, profession and daily life of Frédéric! With a costumed guide and wearing ancient headdresses, children have fun as they learn about the dyke supervisor’s lifestyle… and many other activities.
Step inside the “cabane”, the local traditional farm, and find yourself in the 19th century, surrounded by ancient objects and animals of local breeds (Poitou donkeys and Poitou goats in the summer season).
Take the time to see how the dyke changes through the seasons, listen to the marshland sounds, and visit the boutique for Vendée specialities… For a total immersion in the heart of the Marais Poitevin!
