Amy Lee tells the story of a folk singer and her band, The Loco Project Band. In the mid-1980s, whilst the band were on tour, the plane due to take them to their next gig crashed, leaving only Amy Lee’s diary as a memento.

Forty years later, four musicians and an illustrator came across this diary and decided to bring The Loco Project Band back to life by reviving Amy Lee’s songs.

The project began in 2017 with the writing, composition and recording of tracks featuring the character of Amy Lee. From these stories emerged a self-titled album with strong folk influences, which was released in May 2018 and resonated across the Atlantic. Following an EP, ‘The Summer Session’, the Nantes-based band entered the studio in early 2020 to record their second album, ‘Lost In Confusion’. A far cry from the folk sound of their first LP, the band delivered a highly energetic, rock-driven record and released their first single, “Chemical Love”, in October 2020, accompanied by a music video drawn entirely by hand. This was followed a few months later by a new single, “Crossroads”.

In terms of production, the album was recorded and mixed at Garage Hermétique (Libertines, Dominique A…) and mastered by Graeme Durham at The Exchange (U2, B52’s, Beady Eye, Kasabian…).

Amy Lee & The Loco Project Band skilfully oscillate between noisy rock, folk and post-rock atmospheres, blurring the lines, breaking the mould and holding nothing back. Especially not the pop melodies lost amidst the reverberating guitars!
