Library on the beach

Every summer, the Communauté de Communes Sud Vendée Littoral, in association with the town of L'Aiguillon-la-Presqu'île and the Département de la Vendée, sets up a beach library. Léo will be on hand to welcome you during the season, from Tuesday to Sunday, from 3.30pm to 8.30pm.

Description

Reading, relaxation and entertainment by the water

Dreaming of a quiet moment with a book in your hand and your feet in the sand? The Beach Library opens its doors to you all summer long in a friendly open-air setting. It's free to use and offers a wide choice of books, which you can read on the spot or take away with you. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 3.30pm to 8.30pm.

A wide choice to suit all tastes. There's something for everyone:
- Novels for all ages and styles
- Recent comics and manga
- Children's books and illustrated albums
- A variety of practical guides
- Books to help you discover the Vendée
- Up-to-date newspapers and magazines

New summer releases and free-access games
Since 2024, the library has also been offering beach games. Available to borrow or use on site, these games add to the library's fun, family-friendly atmosphere. So it's easy for young and old alike to alternate between reading and having fun.

Cultural events not to be missed
On certain Thursdays, from 4pm to 6pm, a variety of activities are on offer. Workshops, readings, group games: there's something for everyone.

Opening event
The season kicks off with a bang on Saturday 5 July at 5.30pm with a musical and family-friendly Blind Test specialising in film music and animated films. Come and test your knowledge, alone or in a group, with family or friends, and try to win the game in a festive atmosphere.
