LA MAISON DU MARAIS

At the northern tip of the Marais Poitevin, a natural site unique in Europe, discover the 2nd wetland area in France after the Camargue, historically rich in river developments of all kinds.


Take your boat out from the Maison du Marais, on the so-called dry section, and open your eyes wide to discover the characteristic flora and fauna of the Marais Poitevin. On your way, learn to recognise the iris and the pyramidal orchid, and catch sight of swans, storks, herons and coypu... Discover the secrets of this nature between land and water, thanks to the information panels set out along this 3km route.

For over 35 years, the commune of Longeville-sur-mer has been offering you an opportunity to learn about and enjoy the Marais Poitevin, while preserving the wonders of nature.

The site is open for the All Saints' holiday, from Monday 20 October to 1 November, from 1pm to 5pm.
