Ciné Débat – Le Cercle des Voyageurs : Guyane, une pépite en Amazonie
Description
Embark on a journey to French Guiana on Tuesday 10 March 2026 at 2.30pm in the presence of director Yohann Brichet.
In this remote overseas region, we embark on a journey of history, culture and tourism. Yohann Brichet takes us on foot, by plane, 4x4 or pirogue.
Through his eyes, we discover the lives of Amerindians, Hmongs, Creoles, legionnaires, bushinengues, descendants of convicts or engineers at the space centre, garimpeiros in a gold mine or teachers from mainland France.
But it's also a real journey through time: the first natives, colonisation, slavery, the gold rush, the creation of the penal colony, the European space base... are all elements that have marked the history of this region.
The setting for this expedition is the immense equatorial forest, with its unique ecosystem, and the many rivers that criss-cross it.
So many encounters, so many different facets, so many adventures to experience.
The screening will be followed by a discussion with the director about the filming.
This event costs €9.50 per screening.
