Description
Come aboard on Tuesday 17 February at 2.30pm for a journey through the Basque Country, from the Atlantic Pyrenees to Bilbao, in the presence of director Hadrien Crampette.
Swept by the sea spray and nestling on either side of the Pyrenees, the Basque country fascinates people's imaginations.
This documentary will retrace Hadrien's journey, filming the lives of workers, herders in summer pastures, fishermen, monks and pilgrims to Compostela, as well as the enduring traditions of dance, the festivals of Pamplona and Basque pelota. He will show the transformation of Biarritz and its beautiful rugged coastline, with the emergence of a tourism symbolised by surfing; then sail to Bilbao, San Sebastian, Bayonne and through the rural landscapes from Espelette to the summit of La Rhune.
The screening will be followed by a discussion with the director about the documentary.
