Description
Chaillé-Les-Marais is a small town in the heart of the drained Poitevin marshes.
Like all the villages in the Poitevin marshes, it was founded and laid out to make the most of the marshes. However, its location on a promontory on a former island gives it a distinctive character.
Cliffs, limestone slopes, houses, building materials, colours… all these elements combine to form the landscape, urban and architectural heritage of Chaillé-Les-Marais, which is both typical and distinctive. You’ll be able to experience this for yourself as you follow the consultant architect on a stroll through the village.
