Description
A music festival orchestrated by the famous musician William Christie, in the gardens of his home at Thiré. With musical walks, family workshops, concerts and candlelit meditations, come and discover Baroque music while admiring the very personal gardens of the great musician.
From 24 to 31 August: William Christie's Garden Festival
Every summer since 2012, Les Arts Florissants and the Département de la Vendée have joined forces to offer a unique event combining the pleasure of music and the beauty of gardens... in the Gardens of William Christie. Over the course of a week, the public is invited to discover little-known works from the Baroque repertoire and a remarkable garden in the Vendée, as well as talented young artists at the start of their careers, whom the Festival is showcasing alongside the regular artists of Les Arts Florissants.

Inspired by the art of gardening as it reached its apogee in France and Italy in the 17th and 18th centuries, the William Christie Gardens also aim to highlight the beauty of the Vendée landscape, by bringing together numerous trees and plants unique to the region. Now recognised as a 'remarkable garden' and listed as a Historic Monument, this exceptional 12-hectare site is at the heart of the Les Arts Florissants project.

The 2024 edition of the European Heritage Days will provide an opportunity to showcase Thiré's natural heritage by paying tribute to its artisans: the bees.
