Concert Médiéval “Douce Dame Jolie”
Description
Through the Occitan and French lyric literature of the 12th and 13th centuries, the "Douce Dame Jolie" programme describes the gradual shift in the figure of women in the Middle Ages, from the "Donna" of the Troubadour, an object of courtesy, to the "Dame" of the Trouvères, a paragon of mysticism. Trobaïritz poetry, chansons de toile, anonymous lais, hymns and Marian motets all bear witness to this slow poetic and musical transformation from Romanesque to Gothic.
Dominique METZLÉ (vocals, harp, flute and percussion), founder of PANDORE and unique performer on this occasion, holds a Diplôme Supérieur de Musique Ancienne from the Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris. He has perfected his medieval repertoire with Joël Cohen (Boston Camerata), Andrea Von Ramm (Studio der Frühen Musik), Jordi Savall (Hespérion XX) and Guy Robert (Ensemble Perceval), and performs regularly at medieval music festivals.
