Histoire de mules – 2ème Assises Nationales du Mulet
Description
As a prelude to the 2nd Assises Nationales du Mulet (the fruit of the unnatural love affair between a mare and a donkey), Jean-Luc Clément (storyteller) and his accomplice Claude Thébaut (traditional musician) are offering entertainment based on a number of stories about mules, either told or staged.
Funny, sometimes zany, often surprising or moving, from the Pope's mule to Martha the mule, these stories (true? Who knows?) will take you on a journey of discovery of an endearing animal with a strong character.
As a curtain-raiser, Eric Rousseaux (historian) invites you to a talk on the theme of mule bridle plates, an ornament placed on the head of mules, now considered a popular art object highly prized by collectors.

Friday 17/10 at the Lycée Pétré in Ste Gemme-la-Plaine:
2.30pm to 6pm => Mule Production in 2025: Retrospective and state of the art of the different mule breeds.
Saturday 18/10 at the Lycée Pétré in Ste Gemme-la-Plaine :

Sunday 19/10 at the Maison du Maitre de Digues:
From 10am to 5pm, come and enjoy a day "Around the mules". The site of the Maison du Maitre de Digues is hosting the 2ᵉ Assises Nationales du mulet and offers you multiple activities to discover the history of this animal under a historical and socio-cultural panorama :
