The songs give pride of place to the lyrics, enhanced by rich arrangements of sounds rarely found in this genre: oboe and saxophone meet the voices, accordion and guitar, in a climate where burlesque is tinged with tenderness, where indignation is always present behind the good-natured humour, and where the melancholy that is touched for a moment escapes in a burst of laughter.
