*The Firebird*, premiered by the Paris Opera on 25 June 1910 to music by Igor Stravinsky, is inspired by traditional Russian folktales. It tells the story of a prince, Ivan Tsarevich, who captures a magical bird and confronts an evil sorcerer named Kashchei.
