‘À la conquête de soi’ takes us into the daily lives of four characters grappling with the upheavals of growing older. ‘Should we give up our hobbies?’
‘How do we cope with loneliness?’ ‘How can we continue to look after others without forgetting ourselves? ’ ‘Can we slow down without giving up on our desires?’
Through these real-life situations – sometimes funny, sometimes moving – the show sensitively explores issues of self-esteem, social connections, independence and the role of carers. A lively theatrical debate that reminds us that, at any age, it is possible to hold on to one’s aspirations, find new resources and continue to take charge
of one’s own life.
