"La Chevallerie" takes its name from the important Templar commandery that once stood here. It is owned by powerful families close to the Kings and Queens of France. It was also the headquarters of the Republican Army during the French Revolution.

Description

For 20 years now, La Chevallerie has been benefiting from an ambitious restoration programme to wake up a sleeping castle that was sinking into ruin. We invite you to share a moment of this "castle life": a life of building conservation, historical discoveries and the simple marvels that this Chevallerie brings to everyone. You'll discover a host of stories, both big and small, that meet up with the great History of France.

What you'll see: the architecture of the Logis Vendéen, some of the work carried out, some unusual rooms, a regular flower garden reinterpreted for modern use, and some of the interior rooms...

Guided tour by the owner

Especially for children up to the age of 12: with a treasure hunt and a gift for each child (max. 2 children/adult).

Events: weddings, photos, inspiration shoots, ceremonies ... ask for details on site.


Visits in summer between July and September. Visits the rest of the year by appointment, with a minimum of four adults.
