Hors Pistes / Hors Champs – La Vallée avec Fabrice Hyber
Description
What if art could be discovered whilst walking – through a valley, a market hall, a church or a former farmstead?
From 1 to 15 July 2026, Hors Pistes / Hors Champs will be taking place in Château-Guibert, La Vallée and Mareuil-sur-Lay-Dissais for an edition conceived in collaboration with the artist Fabrice Hyber.
Organised by the Centre Pompidou and La Vallée, this multidisciplinary festival invites visitors to look at living things in a new light: trees, soil, water, insects and mosses, as well as places that are usually closed to the public or out of the way. Exhibitions, screenings, performances, concerts and talks form a journey through contemporary art, environmental awareness and the exploration of the local area.
The heart of the festival beats at Les Halles in Mareuil-sur-Lay-Dissais, with the exhibition *L’Écho de la forêt*. The journey then continues to La Vallée, the church at Château-Guibert, La Serrie, the Jardin Binus and former agricultural spaces transformed into creative venues. A wonderful opportunity to discover a work-territory in motion, shaped over more than thirty years by Fabrice Hyber, where more than 700,000 trees have been planted.
