Hors Pistes Hors Champs, La Vallée de Fabrice Hyber
Description
During the Hors Pistes / Hors Champs festival, Château-Guibert becomes one of the key stops on an artistic trail devised by the Centre Pompidou and Fabrice Hyber.
The Church of Notre-Dame-de-la-Nativité is hosting the gradual creation of a monumental fresco painted directly onto the walls and vaults of the building. Visitors are invited to attend some of the artist’s working sessions, offering a rare opportunity to witness a work of art taking shape. From 2027, this work will be enhanced by a sound installation developed in collaboration with IRCAM.
This stage forms part of a wider itinerary linking Château-Guibert, La Vallée and Mareuil-sur-Lay-Dissais. Throughout the route, contemporary art, heritage, landscape and biodiversity interact to offer an immersive experience where visitors discover the area – shaped over more than thirty years by Fabrice Hyber – in a new light.
Combining contemporary art, rural heritage and encounters with the artist, Château-Guibert offers a unique immersion into the world of one of France’s greatest contemporary artists.
